PEERS: Seniors in Partnership

PEERS: Seniors in Partnership provides community education, outreach and volunteer support to people age 60 or older living in Baltimore County.

Seniors helping seniors

Just a few hours a week could change your life—and the life of someone who needs you. The Volunteer Program matches seniors who are isolated and withdrawn with senior volunteers who are willing to make home visits or provide telephone support. You choose whatever schedule is best for you.

If you or someone you know would like to do something worthwhile and meaningful, please join us as a PEERS volunteer.

Volunteers are at least 52 years of age and willing to provide support to seniors in Baltimore County.

Educational talks for seniors

We offer free talks—for senior groups living in Baltimore County—on topics that are important to their mental, physical and social well being.

Our talks focus on both the problems and benefits of living in later years. Some of our topics include:

  • Laughter is Good Medicine
  • Accentuate the Positive
  • Gray Hair as a Crown of Glory
  • Avoiding Holiday Blues
  • Senior Power
  • When the World is Asleep and You’re Awake
  • The Blues are Not a Normal Part of Aging
  • Getting Along in a Community Setting
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Tips for Dealing with Anxiety

The PEERS staff can also develop unique, custom presentations based on group needs.
