Get Involved
There are several ways to get involved in helping others and spreading the good news about mental wellness in later life.
- Join our Events: Learn about aging and the brain, encourage others, and be encouraged. Learn more on our events page.
- Become an educational ambassador: order and share free copies of our Mental Health in Later Life Guidebook with the older adults in your life and community. Highlight it at your next book club or support group- our Guidebook Study Group Guide can help you get started. You can download the Guidebook as a PDF or order as many copies as you need, free of charge, on our publications page.
- Become an advocate: The Maryland Mental Health and Aging Coalition offers community members and organizations the opportunity to meet bi-monthly to improve upon issues of mental health and aging in Maryland.
- Support Others or Receive Support: The Connections Project provides volunteer support to Baltimore County citizens age 60+ who are experiencing or at high risk for mental health challenges. Volunteers use an evidence-based peer support model to connect via phone, text, video chat, and/or in person. Learn more about the program here.
- Become a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist: Maryland needs more older adults in the growing peer support workforce! Learn about peer support here and the trainings we provide for peers working towards certification.
