Mental Health First Aid (Community College)

Registration for this training closed on 11/20/2024.

MHFA is specifically designed for adults assisting other adults and is a great supplemental training for public service personnel, human resources, behavioral health, coaches, other direct service-related positions, and anyone interested in expanding mental health education to the greater Maryland community.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an international public awareness curriculum that works to destigmatize conversations around mental health while providing a tangible action plan for participants to address crisis and non-crisis mental health situations – much like CPR/first aid supports physical health situations. MHFA is proven to increase the likelihood of bystander helping behaviors, but also increases the learners own mental health literacy.

Participants receive an electronic Mental Health First Aid manual and Mental Health First Aid Certification for 3 years upon completion of course requirements. Additional details regarding certification and class requirements are available on the Registration page.

This class has grant funded seats available and is sponsored by the Maryland Department of Health Behavioral Health Administration which helps to provide Mental Health First Aid programming across the state! It is free and available to anyone professionally or academically affiliated with a Community College in Maryland.

The classes fill on a first come, first served basis. The classes fill on a first come, first served basis. Once the class is filled, the registration link will be removed.
